Recipe for Success Challenge

What is the recipe for success?

You have worked hard to build your business and its time to start looking at how you can make sure the business thrives well into the future.  A 2016 study by AMI  identified that Canada’s top 25% for producers are following this recipe for success:

  • Never stop learning
  • Keep finances up to date to help make business decisions
  • Seek the help of advisors/consultants
  • Write down your business plan, follow it, and review it annually
  • Know your cost of production and what it means for their profits
  • Conduct a risk assessment and manage risks
  • Develop a budget and financial plan

To help you continue building on your successes, AMI is hosting a series of Advanced Farm Management Program sessions this winter tailored to Fruit and Vegetable Growers, Grain Farmers and Direct Farm Marketers.

If you are in one of these sectors you are in luck because AMI is offering a chance at free tuition to any of the above listed AFMP sessions — an $850 value!

What are Ontario’s top farmers doing differently? They are following the business management recipe for success.  Get started on yours by entering this contest and registering to attend one of this year’s Advanced Farm Management program sessions today!

What is the Recipe for Success Challenge?

This contest celebrates AMI’s Recipe for Success and the 7 management habits (or ingredients) to succeeding in your farm business.  The winner of the “Recipe for Success Challenge” will also be the featured recipe in our Recipe for Success E-Cookbook.

The rules are simple:

Step 1 – Cook:

Dig up your best farm fresh recipe based on Ontario ingredients grown by you or someone nearby.  The dish can be breakfast, lunch or dinner, or even an appetizer or dessert.

Step 2 – Social Media:

Prepare your dish and take a great photo of the finished product.  Post your picture onto twitter, tag #RecipeforSuccessChallenge in the photo along with a caption that finishes this sentence: “The key ingredient to my farm’s success is…”.

Ensure the hashtag #RecipeforSuccessChallenge is spelled correctly so we can find your entry!

If you are not on Twitter, simply complete the registration form with your recipe and send that plus your photos to be entered.  Email the form to Jonah Saunders:
